1. Stretch Without a Stretch Fibre

The title and the description both call this fabric elastic, and the material field says 100% polyester. Those two statements only look contradictory if stretch is assumed to come from a fibre - which, in a warp-knitted spacer, it need not.

Here the elasticity belongs to the knit. The pile filaments holding the two faces apart behave as a dense array of small springs: under load they bend rather than collapse, and when the load comes off they push the faces back to their original separation. Loop geometry in the faces adds a little movement across the surface as well.

That is a different kind of stretch from an elastane blend. It does not depend on a fibre that ages, it does not restrict how the cloth can be dyed or finished, and it leaves the fabric a single polymer.

2. Buying Direct from the Knitter

The description opens by saying the fabric is offered directly from the manufacturer, and for a spacer that means more than a slogan. A 3D mesh passes through knitting, dyeing and finishing before it is saleable, and those are the stages where shade, hand and thickness are actually settled. When they happen inside one company, a question about a shade goes back to the line that made it rather than through a trading desk.

3. The Geometric Jacquard Is a Finish, Not a Print

The description calls the surface a distinctive geometric jacquard pattern and what it produces a refined textured finish - which is the right way to read it. The motif is neither printed nor a colour design; it is a difference in the knit, geometric lines worked into the structure so that light catches them at different angles.

Against a white ground it reads as texture and depth rather than as pattern-in-colour, and that is what makes it usable as a face fabric: a bedding or cushion panel gains visible design character without anyone committing to a shade. The effect cannot be washed out, because there is nothing on the surface to lose.

4. Resilience Is a Bedding Requirement

Resilience appears in the description, and in bedding it has a specific meaning: the layer must return to its original thickness after being compressed. A mattress cover or pillow topper is sat on, rolled, vacuum packed and shipped, and every one of those steps flattens the spacer. What matters in service is not how thick it feels in the hand but whether the loft comes back.

Ask for the recovery figure rather than the initial thickness. A build that starts at the thickness you ordered and stays there is a different product from one that arrives flat.

Is it stretchy even though it is 100% polyester?

Yes. The give comes from the knit rather than from an elastane fibre: the pile works as a spring array and the faces carry a little movement of their own. Recovery is the figure that matters in bedding, and we confirm it for the build you order.

Will the geometric pattern wear or fade?

No. It is knitted into the structure rather than printed on the surface, so there is no ink layer to lose. Shade fastness is a separate question, and we match the finish to how the product will be cleaned.

Can the pattern be altered?
