1. The Problem This Fabric Is Built to Solve

Comfort complaints in bedding and seating seldom come from the surface fabric. They come from the layer underneath it - a filling that traps warm, damp air against the body and gradually loses its loft. DF2213 exists to take that layer out of the equation.

It is a knitted three-dimensional mesh, sometimes called spacer or sandwich mesh. The pile yarns that hold the two faces apart are part of the knit itself rather than a laminated insert, which makes the sheet self-supporting: air moves through it in every direction, and it returns to its original height after being sat or slept on.

For mattress makers and home textile brands the result is a breathable, hygienic, quick-drying material that still behaves like a conventional textile in cutting and sewing.

2. How the Fabric Is Constructed

DF2213 is knitted on double needle bar warp knitting machines from 100% polyester yarn. Two mesh surfaces are formed at the same time and tied together by the spacer yarn in one continuous process, which is why the thickness cannot delaminate or shift the way a glued laminate can.

The face carries a fine honeycomb mesh pattern; the reverse is knitted slightly denser, which helps the fabric hold its shape and gives converters a clear front and back during assembly. The reference shade is light grey, and dyeing and finishing happen in our own plant, so other colours can be matched to your swatch.

• Roll width. 146 cm is standard; other widths can be developed to your cutting plan.
• Colour. Light grey is the reference shade, and in-house dyeing makes custom colour matching a normal part of the order.
• Performance finishes. Anti-bacterial, moisture-wicking, anti-pilling, flame-retardant and cooling treatments can be applied depending on the end use.
• Cut-and-sew. Finished cushions, mattress pads and sewn assemblies can be supplied from our own sewing workshop if you prefer to buy a component rather than a roll.

Changshu Dafa Warp Knitting Co., Ltd. has manufactured 3D spacer fabric since 1993. Knitting, dyeing and finishing, and finished-product sewing all sit inside the company, keeping the critical steps under one quality system.

Capacity runs to roughly 900 tons of spacer fabric a month across more than 250 warp knitting machines, of which 80+ are KARL MAYER units in gauges from G12 to G28. Two sites in Changshu and Huaian provide about 50,000 m² of floor space and over 300 fabric designs. Fabrics ship to Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia.

Order quantities are negotiated against the specification and colour, so a trial order does not have to match production volumes, and yardage samples are available before you commit. Pricing follows weight, width, colour, finish and quantity; lead time and payment terms are fixed once details are agreed. Rolls are packed in poly bags inside woven bags, with private-label packing on request. Shipments leave from Shanghai or Ningbo.

Will the mesh flatten where people sit or sleep on it?

No - that is the point of the construction. Because the spacer yarns are knitted in rather than glued, the fabric acts as a spring layer and returns to its original height after compression, resisting the gradual collapse that solid fillings develop.

Does the anti-bacterial treatment survive repeated washing?

The fabric is 100% polyester and quick-drying, and certified to OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100. Because wash performance depends on your finishing specification and laundry conditions, please confirm your required wash cycles with our team before production.

Can you supply our colour, and can you also make the finished item?

Yes to both. Dyeing and finishing are handled in our own plant for custom colour matching, and our sewing workshop can deliver finished cushions, mattress pads and sewn assemblies as well as rolls.
